The space formed by Vadivelu in ‘Guru Sishyan’ after he walked out of the venture has been filled by Santhanam. “Scenes concerning the actor will tickle the funny bone of the viewers,” says sources in the unit.

The film was at first publicized that Vadivelu’s performance would be one of the emphasize. The comedian though opted out of the film alleging that no scenes were shot on him even after months after the beginning of the shoot.

Following this, Santhanam has been roped in by Shakthi Chidambaram, the director and producer of the movie. “Few modifications were made to the comedy part to suit to Santhanam. The actor would as normal rock in this movie,” sources add.

With Sundar C and Sathyaraj in lead roles, the film, though encouraged by the title of a Rajinikanth hit, is no remake. The film though has a remix song. ‘Vangaonna…’ from the movie ‘Bhadrakali’, has been given a ‘fresh look’ by Dheena for ‘Guru Sishyan’.
