Just like many moviemakers have started focalizing Madurai as backdrops in their movies, creator Vetrimaaran appears to have moved towards the similar pattern too. But the Vetrimaaran displays the pride of this movie saying, “It will be an unusual story of Madurai unlike other movies that have been shot in the same position…”

‘Aadukalam centers on a cluster of craftsmen – both matured with young cohorts and their single lifestyles’ adds Vetrimaaran as he assures that there wouldn’t be any hero-worships and natural elements of love as well as action in this movie.

He reaffirms that his tale of ‘Aadukalam’ can be made only in the backgrounds of Madurai as it would offer a sensible flavor. “I had plan about making a movie based on a tale in North Chennai, but had to keep it closed for time-being as my entrance movie ‘Polladhavan’ too was set in the same locales” tots up Vetrimaaran.
