Vijay would soon discard his 'commercial hero' image and act in films that have more significance for storylines, if his father and filmmaker S A Chandrasekaran is to be supposed.

"Vijay is setting up to act in special type of roles. The movies he would act post 2011 would have tough storylines, aimed at bagging awards," Chandrasekaran reportedly said, while talking to journalists near Athur in Dindigul district.

Accepting that Vijay is at this time following 'Rajini style' by acting in movies that have commercial element, the veteran director said his son is though planning to take a different path from next year.

He also said that Vijay's recent movie 'Vettaikkaran' a runaway success and said no producer had suffered losses by making films starring Vijay. 'Vettaikkaran' has set new records, he said.
