Rakshitha didn’t have it straightforward when she had to sign Shivanna’s cheque for Jogayya, her first Kannada undertaking as a producer. “Marriage and household tasks at home kept me missing all this while. Now that my son Surya is a year old, I felt it was the ideal time to initiate my banner, Prem Pictures. And when Geetha akka (Shivrajkumar’s wife) said she couldn’t believe of someone else other,” says Rakshitha, who’s launching her banner on January 24.

Rakshitha has some splendid plans for her banner. “I won’t just make films directed by or starring Prem. I’m open to making films with everyone,” she says. It’s not about strange budgets or star kids. “My aim is to persuade actual, hard-working people and home-grown faculty. I’ll perhaps pay a local heroine more than one from Mumbai,” she laughs.
