Ram Charan Tej-starrer Magadheera has done well as well as there is information that Ravi Teja-starrer Anjaneyulu on the loose on Wednesday has also overcome. The Telugu movie industry has been reel under a severe dearth of hit movies for the last seven-and-a-half months as approximately every movie, with the exemption of two or three out of 70 films on the loose in this period, weakening to make a mark. This means that an estimated Rs 350 crore could have moved out down the drain. Except for Kick, Arundhati as well as to some level, Current, the take a break of the movies, together with those starring big heroes bomb at the box-office.
It is the exhibitors who have been hit the most by the malfunction of movies this year. According to M Vijay ender Reddy, president of Hyderabad State Film Chamber of Commerce, in Telangana region single-handedly 150 theatres were closed down in the last six months itself. All the way from end to end the state, nearly 900 theatres were forced to close down since the beginning of the year as hardly any movies were released which could pull spectators to the theatres. We have in a relaxed way requested some of the big heroes who have a huge following to act in at least two movies as year so that the industry will survive. Some have responded completely to the proposition, Reddy said.
