Revolutionary folk lyricist Vangapandu Prasad Rao, who made headlines for the last few weeks by triggering a controversy in which he vulnerable to sue the makers of Ram Charan Teja's Magadheera for using his popular lyrics lacking his prior permission, is reportedly challenging Rs. 50 lakhs from producer Allu Aravind. To begin with, he demanded Rs. 1 crore from the producer.
It is widely rumoured that the lyricist has asked the makers either to pay the quantity or to do away with the lines. Some commerce persons ask how Vangapandu can command Rs. 50 lakhs for just two lines, what time leading lyricists like Chandrabose as well as Seetaramasastry get no more than Rs. 80000 to Rs 1.25 lakh for writing a complete song! Besides, Vangapandu has to provide evidence that those lines are in actuality written by him and not in folklores previous.
According to Vangapandu, the lines 'Yem pillado eldaam vasthava' have been second-hand with offensive picturisation in addition to they are in fact part of a song 'Paita naligithey ma amma oppukuntadeti' written for director T. Krishna's Ardharathri Swatantram. |
